Privacy notice

This notice explains how we handle the personal information you give us when you join the CuraNet waiting list on this website, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Who we are

CuraNet, is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. “We” and “us” in this notice mean CuraNet.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you join the waiting list.
• Your role and organisation, only if you choose to tell us about interest in a care home pilot. Both are optional.
• The dates you signed up, confirmed your email and, if you do, unsubscribed, and which version of this notice applied, as a record of your consent.
• To stop automated abuse, a one-way coded version of your connection’s IP address is used to count requests for a short time. We do not store your IP address itself, and these counts are deleted within a day.

We collect this information directly from you, through the form on this website. We do not ask for, and this website does not collect, sensitive information such as health information, or any information about care home residents.

You can read this website without telling us who you are. We need an email address to send you updates; if you don’t give us one, we can’t add you to the waiting list.

Why we use it

• To confirm your email address and send you the product news and early access updates you asked for.
• If you register pilot interest, to contact you about a possible care home pilot.
• To protect the sign-up form from spam and abuse.

We don’t use your information for any other purpose without your consent, unless the law requires or allows it.

Emails from us

We email you only after you confirm your address, and only with your consent. Every email identifies us and includes a way to unsubscribe. Unsubscribing takes effect straight away, and you can also withdraw your consent by contacting us.

Who helps us, and where your information goes

• Cloudflare hosts this website and our waiting list database, and provides Turnstile, which checks that sign-ups come from people rather than bots.
• Resend delivers our emails.

These providers handle your information on our behalf to provide their services. Cloudflare runs a global network, so your information may be processed in Australia and in other countries where it operates, including the United States. Resend processes email addresses and messages in the United States.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use advertising or analytics trackers on this website.

Cookies and storage

We don’t set tracking cookies. Turnstile may use the information needed to tell people and bots apart. If you pause the background animation, that choice is remembered in your own browser only.

Keeping it safe, and for how long

Our waiting list is stored in a database that is not public, and only people who need it for the purposes above can access it. Confirmation links are single use and expire after 24 hours, and we store only a one-way coded version of them.

If you never confirm your email, your request is not used to send you updates. Our retention period will be published here before launch. When we no longer need your information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

Access, correction and complaints

• You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it.
• If you think we have mishandled your information, please contact us first. We will look into it and reply within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
• If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
